Terrorist Attacks
Hi guys,
For those of you who haven't heard yet, there were
several explosions due to terrorist attacks in Madrid
this morning. No one is really sure who is
responsible--authorities originally suspected the ETA,
a terrorist organization from northern Spain, but now
they think it could be another organization like Al
Queda.
Several train cars in the city were bombed, a couple
in Atocha, one of the most important train stations in
Madrid, right when traffic was starting to get busy.
The most recent casualty count is 186 deaths and
around 1,000 wounded.
I just wanted you to know that I'm okay. All of the
explosions were toward the eastern side of town, and I
was still in bed on the western side of town when the
attacks happened.
I have several friends who usually would have been on
one of the trains that were attacked, but none of them
went to work or school by train today, so praise God
for that. I actually had planned to go to an art
museum today that is right next to the Atocha station,
so I also praise God that I had decided to sleep in
today.
Also, please pray for the families of those who have
been killed in the attacks, and for safety here, since
presidential elections are Sunday, so the government
is on high alert.
God is bigger than terrorists, explosions, and
anything we can fear. Thank Him for that today!
Praising HIM,
